Are your gemstones treated?
Some are, and we say so on every listing. Heating is standard for ruby, sapphire, tanzanite, aquamarine and blue zircon; most emeralds are oiled; blue topaz is irradiated. Spinel, garnet, peridot and many tourmalines are typically untreated. Each product page states the treatment in the attributes and explains it in the description. We do not knowingly sell glass-filled or diffusion-treated stones.
Do your stones come with a certificate?
Our more valuable stones are sold with a report from an independent laboratory such as GIA, GRS, SSEF or IGI, and the report number is shown on the product page. Other stones come with our in-house report, listing weight, measurements, identification and treatment. We can send any stone to a laboratory of your choice before shipping, with the lab fee added at cost and a few weeks added to delivery.
What is the difference between a lot and a parcel?
A lot is a fixed group of stones, usually matched for colour and size, sold together at one price. You receive exactly the stones in the photograph. A parcel is a larger stock of calibrated stones priced per piece: you choose how many you need, and we count them out of the parcel for you.
How do carats and prices work?
A carat is a unit of weight equal to 0.2 grams. Coloured stones are priced per carat, and the rate rises with quality, rarity and size, so a 2 ct stone usually costs more than twice as much as a 1 ct stone of the same quality. The carat weight on each listing is measured on a calibrated scale. For lots we show total weight and the average per stone.
Is shipping insured?
Yes. Every order is fully insured for its invoice value until it is delivered and signed for. Shipping is free on orders over $250; otherwise flat rates apply, starting at $8 in India and $28 for the USA and Canada. See our Shipping and Returns page for details.
Will I have to pay customs duties?
Possibly. Import duties, VAT or GST and brokerage fees depend on your country and are the buyer’s responsibility. We declare all shipments accurately at the invoice value and cannot mark them as gifts. Many countries charge low or no duty on loose gemstones, but VAT often applies. Your local customs office can tell you the current rates.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept PayPal and major credit and debit cards through our secure checkout. Customers in India can also pay by UPI or bank transfer. For large wholesale orders, international bank transfer can be arranged.
Can you cut a stone to my specifications?
Yes. We work with experienced cutters in Jaipur and can cut calibrated sizes, matched pairs or custom shapes from suitable rough, or re-cut an existing stone. Send us the stone type, size, shape and colour you need and we will quote a price and a timeframe, usually two to four weeks.
What is your returns policy?
Single stones and lots can be returned within 7 days of delivery in their original sealed packaging. Parcels cannot be returned once the sealed paper has been opened. Contact us first to get a return authorisation. The full policy is on our Shipping and Returns page.
How accurate are the photographs?
We photograph every single stone ourselves on a neutral background with daylight-balanced lighting, and we do not edit the colour. Screens vary, though, and gemstones change with lighting. If colour matters to you, ask us for a daylight video before you buy, and we will send one through WhatsApp or email.
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes. We supply jewellers, manufacturers and designers with calibrated stones, matched lots and custom cutting. Send us a list of stones, sizes and quantities, along with your business details, and we will reply with wholesale pricing.
Can I get a GST invoice?
Yes. Every order within India receives a GST invoice from our registered GSTIN. Businesses should enter their GSTIN at checkout, or send it to us before dispatch, so we can issue a B2B invoice for input tax credit. International orders receive a commercial invoice for customs.
