Lot of 10 Mozambique Rubies, 5.40 ct total

Ten oval rubies from Mozambique, calibrated to 5 × 4 mm and sorted from a larger parcel for consistent colour. All ten sit in a medium red with a slight pink edge when viewed on white; laid side by side there is no stone that stands out as darker or more purple than the rest.

They have been heated, which is standard for ruby of this size and price, and show no signs of glass filling. Clarity is slightly included: most stones have small fingerprints or needles visible under a loupe, and two have a faint inclusion you may notice face-up if you look closely. Once set, these read as clean red points of colour.

Because the sizes are held to within a tenth of a millimetre, a jeweller can use standard 5 × 4 mm settings without reworking seats. Typical uses are a tennis bracelet section, a cluster ring, or two pairs of earrings with spare stones. The lot is sold as a whole and is not split.
