1.46 ct Tanzanite, Trillion, Heated

Trillions are cut with a shallow profile, so they look larger face-up than a round of the same weight. This tanzanite has slightly curved sides, which softens the triangular outline and gives more room for colour. The hue is a medium blue-violet that turns more violet under warm light.

Like nearly all tanzanite it has been heated, and it is eye clean. The corners are cut with a small flat to reduce the risk of chipping, which we recommend for any trillion that will be set.

Trillions are often used as side stones, but at almost 8 mm across this one works as a centre stone in a modern ring or pendant. A V-prong or bezel protects the points.
