14.20 ct London Blue Topaz, Cushion, Irradiated

London blue is the darkest of the commercial blue topaz colours, a deep inky blue with a slight grey-green undertone. This cushion is a large, clean example, with no visible inclusions at 10x and a cut that keeps the centre bright despite the dark tone.

All London blue topaz is produced by irradiating and then heating colourless topaz. The process is regulated, stones are tested for residual radioactivity before sale, and the colour is stable. We disclose it on every blue topaz we sell.

At 15 × 13 mm this is a large, affordable stone for a cocktail ring or pendant. Blue topaz is hard and wears well, which makes it a good option for bold everyday jewellery.
